COVID-19 Procedures

In order to protect patients and staff during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, I have made a number of changes to my office procedures. Please read through the following carefully and let me know if you have any questions or concerns before your visit.

Prior to your appointment, I will ask about your recent travel history as well as any flu-like symptoms you or members of your household have experienced in the past two weeks. If you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing/shortness of breath, or any other COVID-19 symptoms as identified by the CDC, such as loss of taste/smell or if you or anyone you have been in contact with during the past two weeks has been diagnosed with COVID-19, please contact me to reschedule your appointment. I will waive my late cancellation fee in those cases.

My office is shared with other providers and we want to avoid people crossing paths with each other in the office, so I’ll ask you to wait in your car and call or text me when you arrive. I will respond back when it’s clear to come in. I ask that you come alone and that any guests wait outside or in the car (please don’t bring children). The goal is to have nobody in the waiting room.

PLEASE WEAR A MASK when you come to the office, and plan on keeping it on for the entire time that you are here. I will also be wearing a mask.

All patients who enter my office will have their temperature taken via a no-touch thermometer. Anyone with a temperature over 100 will have their appointment rescheduled and be advised to monitor themselves for COVID symptoms.

If an in-person visit is not necessary, I will continue to provide services such as herbal consultations via telehealth.

I will wash my hands before and after each patient. I will also be cleaning everything that you and I have touched (including the bathroom) before inviting the next person into the office.

When you come into the office I will have you go into the treatment room and put your personal items (purse, wallet, phone, keys, etc.) into a plastic bin (which I disinfect between each patient) and then wash your hands for 20 seconds. After washing, please use a paper towel to shut off the water to avoid potential contamination of your freshly clean hands. Then you can sit on the treatment table.

In the treatment room I will have paper sheets covering the table and pillow which I will change between each patient, and you can put any clothes that you need to remove into the plastic bin. I request that you wear clothing that can be easily pulled up to the knees and elbows.

I will run a HEPA air filter during all appointments and will use UV light sanitizer in the treatment room at the end of each day.

Although I am taking many steps to reduce potential exposure to COVID-19, it is important that you know that any in-person interaction, including at a medical office, may increase potential exposure to COVID-19. Based on currently available information, older adults (65 and older) and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. If you or a member of your household is at higher risk, you may wish to postpone some routine and/or elective medical care, including acupuncture. Please discuss with me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your patience as I implement these new procedures to ensure the health and safety of all my patients.
